Nvidia publically apologized for the delay of the RTX 3080 sale due to high demand on its official website.
In the FAQs section of the Nvidia official site, it stated that,
“We expected the best ever demand for the RTX 30-series, but the enthusiasm was overwhelming. We were not prepared for this level, nor were our partners. We apologize for this”
Nvidia stated that demand for the RTX 3080 is so high that it stopped the website working properly. The number of traffic is 10 times higher than usual traffic due to high demand.
When the company went live on the release of the card, it looked like the card is out of stock due to massive numbers of pre-orders, mostly made by the bots – Nvidia stated.
Moreover, Nvidia has to cancel pre-orders that are already made by bots and it looks forward to putting a CAPTCHA check on the website to minimize the number of bots and will manually monitor the sales.
The company advised its customers not to buy overpriced RTX Cards worth thousands of dollars on eBay and promises to ships new GPUs weekly to its partners.
